Toblerone, with its distinctive triangular shape and unique blend of Milk Chocolate, Nougat, Almonds and Honey, is an icon of 20th century chocolate manufacturing. Made from the finest raw materials from around the world, Toblerone chocolate is designed simply to reawaken taste buds and immerse consumers in a unique taste experience.
Toblerone has a rich heritage, but one of the most enduring mysteries associated with the brand is how it got its triangular shape. It is said that the chocolate’s unique shape is inspired by Mount Matterhorn - the iconic mountain of Switzerland, the birthplace of its creator “Tobler”. However another theory states that dance performances at the "Folies Bergère", Paris, inspired Theodor Tobler,, to come up with a “human pyramid” shaped design. Either way, Toblerone is one of the most unusual chocolate designs in existence!

History
When Theodor Tobler created in 1908 his new recipe - a milk chocolate with honey and almond nougat - he wanted to express through its shape that it was something different from all other confectioneries.
Several stories exist on how Theodor Tobler came up with the triangular shape for Toblerone. Here are two most popular ones:
Theodor loved the city of Paris and often went to watch dancers performances at the "Folies Bergère". So when he was searching for a shape, the first thing to come to his mind was such a group of dancers, dressed in beige and red, forming a human pyramid!
The second one says the triangular shape was inspired by Matterhorn - the iconic mountain of Switzerland.
