In more than 40 countries around the world this week, Kraft Foods' employees are giving back to their communities in conjunction with the company's annual global week of service called Delicious Difference Week. Taking place around the world from October 4 to 9, some 20,000 employees will be volunteering in the name of charity to make a delicious difference in their respective communities. It is the largest employee volunteer event in Kraft Foods history. In partnership with hundreds of nonprofit organizations worldwide, Kraft Foods' employees will be volunteering at many events across the globe this week, including planting community gardens, volunteering at food banks and other leading activities that support nutrition, education and active play for children.

Emirates to offer World's longest cheese sandwich
Dubai will witness a remarking event that will record its name at Guinness World Record again through making "The world's longest sandwich" of cream cheese and vegetables which being made especially for charity works. The new sandwich will measure 2500 meters, breaking the previous number that was recorded in Italy in 2009 for "2000 meters Sandwich". The project idea was launched by Kraft Foods that wanted to participate in the social responsibility within the local community worldwide by offering help for those who need it. In collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent, the sandwiches will later be packed into boxes alongside other food items and delivered to labor camps.

World's longest line of sandwiches in Dubai
A 2,667 metre line of 11,000 cheese, tomato, cucumber and olive baguettes was made at Dubai Outlet Mall yesterday. From 8am, Kraft Foods Middle East staff worked in teams to get the food prepared. The sandwiches, along with some other snacks, were later distributed by Kraft and the UAE Red Crescent to needy families. More than half a tonne of cream cheese was used in the process. Guinness World Records verified the record.

A massive mouthful
Chefs will attempt to take a bite out of the Guinness Book of World Records today when they attempt to make the world's longest sandwich at Dubai Outlet Mall. Kraft Foods is taking on the huge challenge and has drafted in 180 of its employees to create the 2.5kmlong snack. Ten thousand slices of bread, a tonne of Kraft cheese and 900kg of salad will be used to create the tasty beast, which is to stretch around the entire shopping mall.

Deal on Food Aid to Needy Families
KRAFT Foods has struck a deal with Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) to supply $25,000 (BD9,450) worth of food packages to needy communities in the kingdom. Reflecting the company's commitment to building stronger and more sustainable communities in the countries it operates, the partnership will see 50 packages, containing a range of Kraft products, distributed by the society.
